Despite going on sale in 2020 in major European markets, the Volvo XC40 Electric entered production early last fall at the Belgian plant in Ghent, aiming to fill in the long order list the Swedish brand is proud of. A model just went on sale in Spain, with prices.
The new Volvo XC40 Recharge becomes the first electric SUV in the compact segment, and among Premium goes on sale. XC40 Recharge also includes some special shuffles. For example, there is no start button, it can be operated with one pedal and has two boxes, with the tailgate that opens electrically and one in the front compartment of the combustion engine.
The new Volvo XC40 Recharge includes two powerful electric motors that deliver a maximum power of 408 hp, backed by a lithium-ion battery placed between the axles and with a capacity of 78 kWh, providing a maximum range of 418 km, according to the WLTP cycle. The system has an internal 11kW AC charger which takes 40 minutes to reach 80% at a 150kW charging station. An average of 90 kilometers approximately every 10 minutes.
